The series that shot presenter Amelia Dimoldenberg to stratospheric fame, Chicken Shop Date, is coming to an end.
The British writer and producer confirmed on Thursday that the next season will be its last, bringing to a close the much-loved celebrity interview show she started as a teenager under the umbrella of her media company, Dimz Inc.
Dimoldenberg began Chicken Shop Date as a column when she was 17. The filmed series launched on YouTube in 2014 and has since grown into one of the internet’s most distinctive and celebrated interview formats, with Dimoldenberg “dating” stars across music, film, television and sport.
Some of its most memorable episodes feature Dave, Billie Eilish, Daniel Kaluuya, Central Cee, Andrew Garfield, Cher, Little Simz, Louis Theroux and Jack Harlow, as Dimoldenberg wielded her deadpan humor and the quintessential English setting of a local chicken shop to supposedly bolster her chances of finding love.
“When I was 17, I thought that I might meet the love of my life on a date in a chicken shop,” began Dimoldenberg. “Since then, I’ve spent my entire twenties sat across from the most incredible people, people I’d always dreamt of meeting. All of them charmed me (some more than others), and I definitely charmed them.”
