A 15-year-old boy has been charged following an alleged assault in inner-Sydney that left another teenager with a severed hand. Police were called to Redfern Oval at 6pm on Wednesday following reports of a concern for welfare.A teen, 17, was found at the scene with a severed hand, barely attached to his wrist.Police were told that he was allegedly assaulted with a knife by another teen in a nearby carpark two blocks away on Morehead Street.The wounded teen was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital in a stable condition to have his hand reattached. Two crime scenes were set up as an investigation was launched. Photos of the cordoned-off oval showed abandoned clothing, medical equipment and a football kicking tee covered in blood strewn across the park as police scoured the vicinity for evidence. Following inquiries, police stopped a vehicle on Redfern Street at about 12.15am on Thursday and arrested a 15-year-old teen nearby a short time later.
