Stade de Reims have secured the signing of Nigerian teenage forward Abdoulaye Agbedoye from Grassrunners FC, following his outstanding campaign in the Nigerian youth league.
Agbedoye, 18, emerged as one of the country’s brightest young prospects after scoring 19 goals in 19 matches to finish as the Nigerian Youth League Cup’s top scorer and claim the Golden Boot and Golden Ball awards.
The powerful striker, who stands at 1.95m, has drawn comparisons with Manchester City star Erling Haaland because of his physical presence and direct style of play.
His impressive form also earned him a place in Nigeria’s U-20 squad for the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship, where the Flying Eagles finished runners-up after losing to hosts Burkina Faso in the final.
The forward attracted considerable interest from clubs across Europe during the transfer window, with Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Brentford among those reportedly monitoring his progress. A move to Forest would have seen Agbedoye join forces with compatriot and Super Eagles defender Ola Aina.
