Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have neutralised several terrorists and recovered weapons and ammunition during separate operations in Zamfara and Kaduna states.
The operations, conducted on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, were carried out by troops of Sectors 1 and 2 of the military operation as part of efforts to disrupt terrorist activities and the movement of arms across the region.
In Zamfara State, troops of Sector 2, acting on credible intelligence about the movement of terrorists from the Fakai General Area towards Kwanar Jolof and Tashar Dole in Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas, ambushed the terrorists at Kwanar Jolof.
According to the Media Information Officer of JTF North West Operation Fansan Yamma, Lt Col Aliyu Danja, the troops engaged the terrorists and “neutralised scores of them,” while others fled the area.
He said the troops recovered one rocket-propelled grenade launcher, one RPG bomb, one AK-47 rifle, six AK-47 magazines, 106 rounds of ammunition and a motorcycle, among other items.
