Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan dumped former winners Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg out of the Women’s Champions League on Wednesday in dramatic final qualifying round ties.
Sakina Karchaoui scored a brace as PSG bagged four goals in extra-time against 10-player Frankfurt with the game – and the tie – level after 90 minutes.
Trailing 1-0 in Paris, the Germans were reduced to 10 players on 66 minutes after Australia forward Hayley Raso was dismissed for a second bookable offence.
Yet Swede Rebecka Blomqvist equalised 10 minutes later to force extra-time, with the tie locked at 2-2 on aggregate.
But Frankfurt ran out of steam in the extra period as PSG romped to a 6-2 aggregate victory.
