Most people know two things about Patti LaBelle: She’s a world-class singer and a very talented cook. And guests at the sixth annual BMAC Gala, set for Sept. 24 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., will be able to appreciate both of LaBelle’s talents. The event is organized by the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) and presented by Live Nation.
LaBelle is slated to receive the BMAC Icon Award at the event, where guests will dine on recipes from LaBelle’s own kitchen, including hot and sassy gazpacho, Caesar salad, short ribs in brown gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, blackened savory salmon, sumptuous string beans and vegan jambalaya. Guests will finish the evening with LaBelle’s sweet potato pies.
