Every few months, our senior fashion writer puts together a definitive 100-product guide to preparing for the upcoming season. The Strategist Fall 100 dropped yesterday, which was my cue to start seriously shopping for chillier weather. Amid the boatneck tees, pull-on pants, and suede clogs, I spotted a Gap Factory sweater skirt for a nice price: $30, down from $60. It’s made from Gap’s proprietary “CashSoft” fabric, which we’ve raved about for being incredibly soft (as the name suggests), sturdy, and great for layering. An elasticized waist ensures no pinching, and the hem has a subtle flair — I’d wear it out and about with a matching sweater, but you could also add some tights to make it a bit more work appropriate.
