An exhausted young Eurasian eagle-owl that collapsed in the sea on the northwestern island of Corfu has been rescued by tourists and is now being cared for by experts.

Greece’s leading Anima wildlife organisation said in a social media post that the young bird will stay in its care for as long as necessary and will then be released back into the wild.

Anima said it has been brought another young eagle-owl for care that was found near the village of Limni on the island of Evia.
