A correspondent of The PUNCH, Patrick Odey, has died at the age of 63.
His son, Benedict Odey, confirmed the development to The PUNCH in a telephone interview on Wednesday, saying his father died in the early hours of Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
He disclosed that his remains had been deposited at a morgue in his hometown in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State.
He added that the family had scheduled a night of songs and tributes for Friday, 2 October 2026, while the burial and interment would take place on Saturday, 3 October 2026, in his hometown in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Odey, born on October 1, 1963, was married to Mrs Alice Odey, and the marriage was blessed with five boys and one girl.
