Four adults face murder charges after Baby S suffered 33 wounds in Sheffield.
Five Slovak nationals have appeared in court in Sheffield, northern England, in connection with the death of a newborn baby girl who prosecutors say suffered 33 wounds in 15 separate stabbings.
Four of them – Andrea Skopova, 20, Peter Horvath, 19, Nina Horvathova, 37, and Peter Horvath, 38 – have been charged with murder, causing or allowing the death of a child, and perverting the course of justice, according to South Yorkshire Police.
A 15-year-old Slovak girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
The BBC reported from Sheffield Magistrates’ Court that all five defendants are Slovak nationals. They were remanded in custody and are due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday.
