BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra on Wednesday challenged Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to dissolve the Legislative Assembly and face fresh elections if the Congress government was unable to provide justice to Dalits and backward classes.“The people will decide,” he told reporters during the second day of the BJP’s ‘Ballari Chalo’ padayatra, which began from Sante Kallur near Maski in Raichur district.Mr. Vijayendra alleged that the Congress had continued to neglect Dalits, backward classes, and other communities after coming to power. He reiterated the BJP’s allegations regarding the irregularities in the Valmiki corporation and accused the government of failing to implement reservation properly and provide employment to the youth.He said the BJP had taken its campaign to the street as the government had failed to address the problems of farmers. He claimed that two or three more Ministers were likely to lose their positions and alleged that corruption would eventually catch up with them.Taking a dig at the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister for beginning drought inspections, Mr. Vijayendra said the BJP had already conducted its own assessment of the drought situation.He alleged that the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister had started visiting drought-hit areas only after being compelled by the BJP’s agitation.
