Psst: A title winner and a fraud, picked before Week 1Right now, the texts I want to read most are the ones college football coaches are sending to each other. There’s always an inherent interest there, as these are quite famous men who have to play things straight in front of microphones and cameras for most of the week. What are they gossiping about in their downtime? Who hates who? Which are secretly best friends? The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman got a version of that today in the form of an anonymous coaches survey from important people in every conference. The coaches voted on national title winners, Heisman recipients, frauds and more. Two things I’m texting my friends about today:

Everyone loves Oregon. The Ducks got the most votes to win the national title, and quarterback Dante Moore is the leading Heisman candidate for this crew. I still recoil every time I read and/or realize Oregon is the last real blueblood that doesn’t have a ring. It might be time to win one.

Everyone hates LSU. Is there anything going on with that program right now? I’m unaware. Anyway, the coaches think the Tigers are the biggest frauds in the country and that all the outside noise will take too much of a toll on this group. No comment.
