It is arguably the most famous date in English history: 1066 - the year of the Battle of Hastings, marking the start of the Norman Conquest and pivotal in England's development.
The battle is told in incredible detail in the 11th-century Bayeux Tapestry.
It will go on display for the first time in London from September 10th, following a loan from the Bayeux Museum in Normandy, northwestern France.
