A 58-year-old Kent County woman won the top prize on the Michigan Lottery’s $1,000,000 Bonus Scratch Multiplier and elected a lump sum worth about 69% of face value. Two more $1 million tickets remain unclaimed in the game.
An anonymous 58-year-old player from Kent County scratched the top prize on the Michigan Lottery’s $1,000,000 Bonus Scratch Multiplier, the lottery announced on Aug. 31. She bought the ticket at Aikan Liquor at 1640 44th Street Southeast in Kentwood and has since claimed the prize at lottery headquarters.
“I buy a lottery ticket almost every day, and typically buy my tickets at all different stores,” she said in the lottery’s statement. “I scratched my $1,000,000 Bonus Scratch Multiplier ticket when I got home from the store, and when I saw I’d won $1 million, I screamed so loud that I scared my son.” She described the win as a relief that would mean no more stress, and said she plans to save the money.
The $10 game launched in February and has paid out more than $16 million, with prizes ranging from $10 to the $1 million top tier. More than $29 million in prizes are still outstanding, including two remaining $1 million tickets, 13 prizes of $10,000, and 106 of $2,000. Michigan players won more than $1.7 billion on instant games during 2025.
