North Korea's involvement in Russia's military aggression against Ukraine is a clear violation of international law, and the country must be held accountable along with Moscow's other allies.
Japan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Kazuyuki Yamazaki, made the statement during the UN General Assembly's general debate on the "Situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine" on September 1, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Any action that directly or indirectly supports Russia's aggression is itself a violation of international law, and all States complicit in such aggression must be held accountable," the ambassador said.
He stressed that Japan is "deeply concerned" by the continued engagement of North Korean troops in combat against Ukraine, which "constitutes a clear violation of international law including the UN Charter and Security Council Resolutions."
