It was a shot across the bow for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor – and a reminder that the Jeffrey Epstein story is far from over.
US Representative Thomas Massie accused the former duke of York of “committing sex crimes in the US” during a speech in Congress.
The Republican Congressman said he wanted the “perpetrators” of the Epstein case to be brought to justice and reeled off a list of 14 men, including the former prince who strongly denies any wrongdoing.
It was an extraordinary moment for Mountbatten-Windsor, who was accused of having sex with Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre in 2001 when she was 17 – they settled a civil battery lawsuit she brought against him.
The former prince was arrested in February by Thames Valley Police on suspicion of misconduct in public office and police later said they were looking into sex trafficking as part of their inquiry.
