Parliament's impeachment committee has withdrawn its recommendation of Adv Thandazani Madonsela SC as evidence leader in the Phala Phala inquiry, two weeks after President Cyril Ramaphosa objected to it.
The committee voted 18 to nine on Tuesday to rescind its recommendation from last month.
It reopened the nomination process the same day, giving political parties until Friday to put forward new names.
Madonsela had not yet been appointed.
