ALBAWABA - A Filipino couple tie the knot at a Catholic church amid heavy floods in the Philippines.The tropical island country has been facing non-stop seasonal monsoons for a month now, leading to rising water levels across the country. This didn’t stop one couple from getting married in church amid the floodwaters.In a stroke of fate, the aptly named Saint John the Baptist Church witnessed the marriage of Leian Lieza Galang as she waded into the water to wed Gilbert Chico. The priest pronounced them husband and wife at an abbreviated late-morning ceremony. "The parish had advised them to postpone the wedding due to the rising floodwaters from upstream. It was their decision to proceed," the wedding photographer told AFP, adding that the church had been partially underwater for nearly a month."Since they wanted to see it through, we the servants of the parish did the best we could to make this a special day for them.""They love each other. Nothing could stop their union," he said — the wedding only had 15 people in attendance yet it created a memory that will remain for life.
