The State government employees have raised their voice against the inordinate delays in the implementation of the new Pay Revision Commission recommendations as well as the release of dearness allowance instalments due for some time.Employees staged a lunch hour demonstration in the State Secretariat on Tuesday in support of their demands. The impressive demonstration saw slogan shouting employees demanding immediate implementation of the PRC recommendations along with the fitment benefit due since almost three years. This is the first major demonstration by the employees since the Congress government took over the reins in December 2023.The previous BRS government had constituted the PRC headed by retired bureaucrat N. Siva Sankar in October 2023 announcing 5% interim relief. Employees were sore that the IR would not be sufficient to meet their requirements pending implementation of the full recommendations - including the fitment, but they lied low following the change in the government. With several representations to the government in vain, the employees staged a major demonstration, the first in the new Secretariat complex, expressing their dissent over the delays in the implementation announcement of the in support of their demands.Some employee organisations also held demonstrations demanding that the compensatory pension scheme be withdrawn and all employees should be brought under the regular pension scheme.
