A man was arrested early Tuesday accused of trying to kill his partner following an argument by allegedly driving his car drunk in a northwestern town while she clung to the hood.
The 24-year-old woman suffered severe injuries after falling off the moving vehicle, a police statement said. The incident took place in the port town of Igoumenitsa before dawn.
Police said the couple had had an argument, and at some point the woman ended up on the car hood. The suspect then allegedly started the car and drove off.
He faces charges of attempted murder and breaching road safety laws.
The injured woman is being treated in hospital in the nearby city of Ioannina.
