The Cross River State Police Command has arrested a 16-year-old boy for allegedly stabbing a 20-year-old man, Uwem Daniel Akpan, in the Akamkpa Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Tuesday and made available to journalists in Calabar.
The PPRO said that the incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2026, following a misunderstanding at Peters Street, Awi community, in Akamkpa LGA.
According to the statement, the victim was rushed to the Naval Reference Hospital, Calabar, where he was confirmed dead, adding that his remains were later recovered by family members.
