The voluntary recall was initiated after FDA testing identified Salmonella in mangoes grown on the same farm in Mexico, although no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the product. Salmonella exposure poses a serious health risk that can cause fatal infections in young children, elderly individuals, and immunocompromised people, along with fever, diarrhea, and nausea in healthy individuals.
