The Red Sox stunned the industry by acquiring Adley Rutschman. A.J. Preller stunned no one with his usual flurry of activity. All in all, it was a good time.A common theme among executives is that it is difficult to evaluate a deadline deal because the sample size is so small. So much variance can happen in only two months of baseball. With that in mind, we figured we would check in, after a month of play, to evaluate how this year’s deals are looking.1. Last Power Ranking: 1Trade deadline report card: B-Who are we to say the trade deadline hasn’t worked out for Milwaukee? Sure, Antonio Senzatela and Dustin May have been underwhelming, and JoJo Romero has yet to pitch for the Brewers because he is recovering from an appendectomy. But the Brewers always seem to know better than we do what works for them (at least in the regular season) and, wouldn’t you know it, they’re 16-10 since the deadline and have maintained their grip on the league’s best record.
