South Korea and the United States are coordinating a possible visit by Foreign Minister Cho Hyun to Washington for talks with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on North Korea and other bilateral issues. The two ministers agreed last week to meet face-to-face soon and keep close communication. Officials said they are trying to set the earliest possible time, with a separate Washington visit possible before the U.N. General Assembly in New York. Pending issues include the $350 billion investment commitments, the 123 Agreement, and nuclear-powered submarines.

South Korea and the United States are coordinating a possible visit by Foreign Minister Cho Hyun to Washington for talks with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio over North Korea and other key bilateral issues, officials said Tuesday.
During a phone call last week, Cho and Rubio agreed to meet "face-to-face in the near future" and continue close communication and cooperation to make progress on key issues, including economic cooperation, the North Korean nuclear issues and the Middle East crisis, according to Seoul's foreign ministry.
