Ukraine’s Finance Ministry leadership and International Monetary Fund experts have begun discussions on economic prospects and parameters of the 2027 state budget.

The Finance Ministry said in a release cited by Ukrinform that Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko and IMF experts launched talks on August 31. Meetings will continue for three days in Kyiv.

“I am grateful to the International Monetary Fund for its continued support and expertise, which help strengthen Ukraine’s economic and financial resilience. Over the course of this week, we plan to agree on the next steps in our cooperation, taking into account current economic conditions and the financing needs of the state budget for 2027,” Marchenko said.

The ministry recalled that under the program approved in February, Ukraine committed to ambitious structural reforms to ensure effective post‑war recovery and progress toward EU membership. These include strengthening fiscal institutions and tax administration, improving governance and anti‑corruption systems, developing financial and market infrastructure for reconstruction with private capital, and advancing the market economy.
