What has changed?: In 2025, the transfer window shut on Monday, September 1 at 7pm.
This year, it is set to shut at 11pm on the same date.
Why was the deadline changed?: The deadline was initially brought forward for the last two windows to provide a more regular working pattern for staff involved in transfers.
This was agreed with the EFL, Premier League and the FA.
However, it has now reverted to 11pm to allow more time to get deals done, with clubs also given a two-hour grace period after the window closes to complete transfers if paperwork has been submitted.
