Eilidh Bell was last spotted at around 1am on Friday, August 28, on Meadowburn Place in the town and was reported missing from her home on Sunday.‌Police Scotland launched a major search for the 25-year-old after her disappearance was described as "out of character" and concerns for her welfare mounted. The force issued a public appeal along with a description in an effort to find her.‌Officers have now sadly confirmed that the body of a woman has been found in an area near Kilkerran Road on Monday, August 31. Formal identification has yet to take place, but Eilidh's family has been notified.‌The family have requested that their privacy be respected at this difficult time. The death is currently being treated as unexplained, though enquiries remain ongoing.A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course, reports the Daily Record.‌Heartfelt tributes have already begun pouring in for Eilidh from devastated loved ones online.
