Kolkata: A joint team of the Kolkata Police and fire department on Monday conducted a fire safety check at a building on Camac Street, where Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee's office is also located. The team checked fire safety measures on every floor of the building as part of an ongoing fire safety audit, a fire department official said.A senior fire department official said the exercise was being undertaken to assess fire safety and compliance with building norms on every floor as part of the ongoing audit.Read more: Kolkata Police summons Derek O'Brien, Abhishek Banerjee over Camac Street scuffle"We are conducting a fire audit and checking access for fire brigades, the pumps, water pressure and other things," the official leading the team said.The visit comes four days after a team of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation and police personnel visited the building to remove an allegedly illegal billboard, leading to a scuffle-like situation in the presence of Trinamool Congress leaders and workers at the building.
