An increasing number of lawmakers are ripping self-described white nationalist Laura Loomer for her latest racist remarks against several Black women in politics — including Florida’s progressive Senate candidate Angie Nixon, whom she called a “ghetto bitch.”Loomer received a wave of backlash after calling powerful Black women like Nixon, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), former Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson “ghetto, entitled, race-obsessed, destructive black bitches.” Nixon responded to Loomer, only for the “proud Islamophobe” to triple down on her comments.“You attack and insult Black women because you believe peddling racism is good for your clicks and your business model,” Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) posted on X. “And while everyone with internet access and ignorant opinions doesn’t deserve a response, this is someone who is an advisor of Donald Trump and who should be condemned by all.”Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who herself was embroiled in racist scandals before breaking from President Donald Trump’s MAGA agenda, beat most major Democrats and the rest of the Republican Party in publicly denouncing the influential right-winger’s comments against Nixon, who is running against Sen. Ashley Moody (R).“I’m not a Democrat and I’m not supporting Angie Nixon, but the Republican Party and President Trump owns Laura Loomer and her nonstop vitriol. This hateful, racists [sic], and demeaning rhetoric should not be tolerated. Ever,” she posted on X. “But they allow it and keep her in the inner circle.”“Loomer hurts Republican Senator Ashley Moody in her race with these vicious attacks. Just like Loomer has consistently hurt the Republican Party as she whispers nonstop insanity in the President’s ear,” Greene continued. “I 1000% denounce Laura Loomer and her nasty, hateful, racists [sic] comments. This is Trump’s new MAGA and Republican Party and I want nothing to do with it.”A spokesperson for Moody’s campaign did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment, though Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) has demanded the senator condemn Loomer’s remarks.This weekend wasn’t the first time Loomer made racist statements against Black women in politics. The Trump adviser faced heat last year after saying Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s reported treatment of her staff is “typical DEI Shaniqua behavior.” In 2024, Loomer said the White House would “smell like curry” if former Vice President Kamala Harris, who is also South Asian, won the presidential election.Loomer’s latest comments come just days after a grand jury report found Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R) administration — of which Moody served as attorney general — had “misappropriated” $10 million in taxpayer dollars from a children’s nonprofit to the Republican Party of Florida.In its report, the grand jury specifically criticized Moody for failing to ensure taxpayer money wasn’t being misspent.
