The Chief Magistrate Court No. 1, Gombe, presided over by Chief Magistrate Musa-Saleh Kilawa, on Monday granted bail to a 55-year-old woman, Antine Amadu, who is facing a charge of allegedly receiving stolen property.
Amadu, a resident of Dawaki Quarters, Gombe, was arraigned before the court over allegations that she dishonestly received a gallon of Turkey oil valued at N60,000.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred at about 1am on August 27, 2026, when the defendant allegedly received the item from one Ibrahim Hassan of Aniya Quarters, Gombe.
The prosecution told the court that the Turkey oil had allegedly been stolen from Haruna Magaji of Ajiya Quarters, Gombe.
Presenting the case before the court, the state counsel, Hafsat Aliyu, said the alleged offence contravened Section 317 of the Penal Code Law.
