Reports on social media from eyewitnesses claim they saw multiple police cars slam into the vehicle in Mottingham Road before it finally came to a halt.The van was chased for about 17 miles from Swanley into London, Kent Police said, after they spotted the vehicle, which had previously been reported stolen, at 6.45pm yesterday (Sunday).The force said it was called to a report that a man had smashed a window and taken a van that did not belong to him from an address in Swanscombe at 2.55pm.The owner of the property is known to the man, police said. After officers spotted the van, the driver allegedly refused to stop and instead headed for London down the wrong side of the A20, police said.The police gave chase and were joined by officers from the Metropolitan Police.
