US President Donald Trump has vowed that the United States will retaliate against Iran after Tehran launched missile and drone attacks targeting American military positions in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates on Monday.
“We’re going to hit them hard. There will be a response,” Trump told Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst in an interview on Monday.
Trump said US air defence systems intercepted most of the incoming missiles during the attack on American forces in Jordan.
He said one missile was allowed to pass after US forces determined that it was unlikely to hit anything significant.
