Storytelling and focus have been placed there to make the promotion feel distinctive. But for anyone who watched All In on Sunday night, something felt different, or elevated, about the show’s presentation.From the 8K camera during the Death Riders’ entrance to the larger video board, camera angles and shots, it looked like AEW’s biggest show, and not just in name. Perhaps the biggest elevation in presentation, however, came from Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega’s entrances in the main event, which played off their history through intricate, intimate storytelling.Ospreay’s, in particular, felt like he was walking through the ghosts of his past on his way to the ring. From Zack Sabre Jr. to Swerve Strickland, whom he’s crossed paths with in multiple companies, Ricochet, Kyle Fletcher, Mark Davis and his wife, Alex Windsor, it was a walk down memory lane leading to the present moment, the moment in the 33-year-old’s career when he won the AEW World Championship.After All In, during the media scrum, Ospreay reflected on the special moment leading up to his match, which also featured audio narration from his mother. He called it “one of the coolest things” he’s ever done:“For me, it was walking past all the people that made me. Zack Sabre Jr, the first mountain in British wrestling that I climbed. Michael Oku, my last British wrestling match. Ricochet, from Best of the Super Juniors. Swerve, Kyle and Davis, then see Al [Alex Windsor] there. Then, Moxley. It was mind-blowing. Even though there might be hard feelings towards some of them, maybe some love towards others, it was one of the coolest moments to know there was a moment of appreciation from all of them and they were ready to see me step into this position. To me, that was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. I haven’t watched it back yet, but people are saying it was pretty fucking sick."
