Kelly Osbourne has revealed that she 'wasn't well' in the wake of dad Ozzy's death, as she addressed body-shaming comments16:52, 31 Aug 2026Kelly Osbourne has addressed the body-shaming comments she was met with following dad Ozzy’s death. The Black Sabbath frontman died last summer at the age of 76. His death certificate listed joint causes including a cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease with autonomic dysfunction.Earlier this year, the 41-year-old appeared on stage at the Brit Awards to accept a posthumous Lifetime Achievement award on behalf of the rocker, and was met with a wave of scrutiny over her appearance. In a new interview, she was asked how she navigated such a tough time, and shared: “I didn't navigate it – I wasn't well."How can you navigate something so cruel when you're so sick? I'm getting a lot better. I've got all the help I need and I’m grateful for the support I have in my life."[I have] this incredible team of people I’ve built around me who are not just my friends, because what you'll find when you're grieving is that people don't know how to handle it, and you do lose a lot of friends. But the ones who stick around are the real ones.”Detailing her approach to her wellbeing now, she insisted: "You've got to fix the head before you can fix the body. It's a slow process. It's going to take me a minute. I'm not going to be fixed in a day. I'm not going to be fixed on one therapy session. This is a lifetime of work I've got to do and continue to do for the rest of my life."It's great discovering things about yourself [in therapy], and the reasons why I do certain things that stem from my childhood. You go all the way back and you're like: ‘Oh my god, that's why I do that. That's crazy.’ I'm getting to know myself in a whole new way, but it's a lot more healthy, I can tell you that.""I'll never be the person I was before my father died… a part of me died, too,” she added to Hello Magazine. "Everything is different. I'm different. Everything has changed, but it's just taking it one day at a time and putting the pieces back together in a way that you think will work."Ozzy had been open about his health battles in the years leading up to his death. In 2020, he shared that he had received his Parkinson’s diagnosis the previous year, following a fall at his Los Angeles home. This incident also exacerbated a longstanding spinal injury, which led to his 2019 tour ultimately being cancelled.Just weeks before his death, the music legend performed for the final time in front of a packed-out crowd in his native Birmingham. The Back to the Beginning gig also saw appearances from Metallica, Slayer and many others. His son, Jack Osbourne, opened up about the shock of his death during his appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here just a few months later. He told his campmates: "It was definitely a shock. I mean, we knew he was sick for a while, but it was definitely a shock.“We didn't know it would be that quick... It was the ultimate mic drop, he did a massive big gig and was like, 'Alright, I'm done.'"He added to the camera: "I'm still navigating it all, it's been three, nearly four months, and it's still pretty fresh."Article continues belowLike this story?
