Abolfazl Shekarchi, senior spokesperson for the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic, threatened the United States with retaliation for personnel killed in recent strikes and for the death of Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, asserting that US forces will be expelled from West Asia.
Speaking on Monday, August 31, Shekarchi characterized US President Donald Trump and his allies as “the embodiment of evil and malice.” Responding to Trump’s statements regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he stated: “We will not allow the presence of Americans in this region, and the soldiers of Iran and Islam are determined to expel the Americans from West Asia.”
The senior armed forces spokesperson reaffirmed the decision to avenge the deaths of Ali Khamenei, armed forces personnel killed in the recent war, and children killed at schools in Minab (“Shajareh Tayyibah”) and Larak, stating that this retribution would take place “sooner or later.”
Shekarchi dismissed Trump’s claims regarding the Strait of Hormuz as “futile and rooted in wishful thinking,” adding: “These statements by Trump are part of a US effort to exert psychological pressure on Iranian society and serve no other function.”
