Anyone Googling which military branch pays the most for college is going to run into a lot of confident-sounding answers that don't hold up. The truth is less dramatic than the headlines: The Post-9/11 GI Bill is a federal benefit that pays the same regardless of which branch you serve in, and every active-duty branch now offers essentially identical Tuition Assistance: $250 per semester hour up to $4,500 per fiscal year. In no branch does TA quietly pay more than the others. What actually separates the branches is a layer of supplemental programs stacked on top of that shared foundation, and those differences are real enough to matter when you're choosing where to join.
