The Congress government is committed to developing Khammam as a model city by strengthening its civic and road infrastructure with a futuristic vision, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said.He was addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation stone for a BT road from Cotton Market at Prakashnagar to Dhamsalapuram Road and central lighting works at an estimated cost of ₹12 crore in Khammam on Monday.He said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had sanctioned ₹250 crore to augment the drinking water supply in Khammam.The Minister directed municipal authorities to take immediate steps to construct overhead water tanks to ensure a round-the-clock drinking water supply to residents of the city.
