HYDERABADThe Centre has sanctioned ₹175 crore incentive to Telangana for completing the first milestone in the implementation of AgriStack, a digital platform to bring all stakeholders together to improve agriculture in the country and enable better outcomes and results for the farmers by using data and digital services, said Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao.This is in addition to ₹424 crore incentive already sanctioned by the Centre to the State for completing the Farmer Registry. As part of the implementation of AgriStack, Telangana has completed the milestone of AgriStack based fertilizer distribution system.The Minister said here on Monday that in a communication sent by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, it was stated that the proposal sent by Telangana fulfilled the standards and guidelines set by the Centre and accordingly ₹175 crore incentive was sanctioned for 2026-27 under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI).The incentive was sanctioned under Part-VII of the SASCI - Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for Agriculture - AgriStack. A total of ₹13,000 crore was allocated for DPI and of it ₹10,000 crore for AgriStack-enabled priority use cases. Further, of the ₹10,000 crore allocation, ₹5,000 crore was meant for implementation of AgriStack-based fertilizer distribution system.The AgriStack system would enable transparency in the implementation of farmers’ welfare schemes by linking details of farmers, extent of cropping, crops raised, fertilizers supplied digitally, the Minister added.
