Minister for General Education N. Samsudheen has said that the United Democratic Front (UDF) government was committed to improving infrastructure in schools.He was speaking after inaugurating online a new multi-storey building at Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Karakurissi, near Mannarkkad on Monday. The building was constructed at a cost of ₹5 crore.The Minister called for cooperation across political lines for local development. He also urged students to combine academic excellence with humanity and mutual respect.Minister for Development of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes K.A. Thulasi said new Plus Two batches had been sanctioned based on the needs of schools so that students could continue their studies in their localities. She inaugurated the new batch and smart classrooms at the school.The government would take steps to provide a new building for the school’s lower primary section, she said, adding that V.K. Sreekandan, MP, had offered to provide a bus for the school.District Panchayat president S.B. Raju presided. Former MLA K. Santhakumari inaugurated the school’s ‘creative corner’. Karakurissi panchayat president Riyas Nalakath, vice president Afsath Vellanchiri, Sreekrishnapuram block panchayat president K.
