IT and Industries Minister D.Sridhar Babu on Monday urged the German Indian Business Alliance (GIBA) to encourage German firms to invest in semiconductor manufacturing in Telangana.The State government is prepared to provide necessary support to the firms setting up operations in Telangana, including expedited approvals, infrastructure, investment incentives and skill development, the Minister told a GIBA delegation led by Kelsterbach Mayor Manfred Ockel that met him at the Secretariat here on Monday.He said the State government is working to develop Telangana as a semiconductor manufacturing hub, and sought greater participation from German companies in the sector. He also outlined investment opportunities in Telangana in various sectors, including semiconductors, Life Sciences, aerospace and defence, electronics, advanced manufacturing, precision engineering, automobiles and automation, the Minister’s office said in a release on the meeting.Telangana’s talent pool and industrial ecosystem could be leveraged by German companies, while the State is keen to benefit from Germany’s strengths in advanced technology, precision engineering and advanced manufacturing, Mr.Sridhar Babu said, also seeking the delegation’s support for the establishment of a Telangana-Germany logistics corridor. Such a corridor would facilitate the movement of goods and improve access for Telangana-based exporters to German and wider European markets.The Minister urged the GIBA representatives to create awareness among German industrialists about the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2026, scheduled to be held on December 7, 8 and 9, and encourage their participation.
