Drinking water distribution would be suspended for two days - Sept 1 and 2 (Tuesday and Wednesday) in the following wards in Madurai city: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 38, 39, 41, 42, 43, 48, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 78, 79, 80 to 100.According to a press release issued here on Monday, following a leak spotted in the main water pipeline near Thiruvedakam Cooperative Bank on Sholavandan Road, the engineers had been deployed to carry out the repair and arrest the leak. To implement the work, the water flow had to be stopped.Commissioner Gaurav Kumar has appealed to the residents to save potable water and use judiciously for the next two days.
