The Alwal and LB Nagar Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) hospitals and the Warangal Super Specialty Hospital will be named after prominent personalities associated with Telangana, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on Monday.The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Moosarambagh Flyover at Amberpet. The decision followed a request made by Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to name major hospitals constructed under the Roads and Buildings Department after eminent personalities who had contributed to Telangana.Accordingly, the Alwal TIMS will be named after former Chief Minister T. Anjaiah, the LB Nagar TIMS after Telangana leader Konda Laxman Bapuji, and the Warangal Super Specialty Hospital after Prof. K. Jayashankar.Thanking the Chief Minister for accepting his request, Minister Komatireddy said he had raised the issue during the inauguration of the Sanathnagar TIMS and suggested that the hospitals be named after leaders who had made significant contributions to the State.The Minister also said that naming of the Sanathnagar TIMS after former Chief Minister Marri Channa Reddy was a fitting tribute to him. Mr. Komatireddy said naming the three hospitals after T. Anjaiah, Konda Laxman Bapuji and Prof. Jayashankar would recognise their contributions and the ideals they stood for.
