Egypt has launched a massive humanitarian relief operation to assist families in the war-ravaged Gaza Strip. As Africa's second-richest economy by nominal gross domestic product, Egypt has leveraged its economic capacity to coordinate the delivery of essential goods directly to the border.

On Monday, the Egyptian Red Crescent dispatched its 268th aid convoy, which has been officially named "Zad Al-Izza... From Egypt to Gaza".

According to Egypt Today, this massive initiative reflects the organization's active "role as a national mechanism for coordinating and delivering humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people".

The convoy is part of a continuous effort by Egypt to alleviate the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the neighboring region.
