Activists of student and tribal organisations staged a protest in Bhadrachalam on Monday demanding stringent punishment for the accused in the alleged rape and murder of a 21-year-old nurse in Hyderabad on Saturday.The protesters condemned the brutal killing of the young nurse, who was working at a private nursing home in Thukkuguda, and demanded a speedy trial to ensure the maximum possible punishment for those found guilty.The protest was organised under the aegis of the the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and Telangana Adivasi Girijana Sangham town committee in Bhadrachalam.The activists called for a detailed investigation into the circumstances leading to the crime and urged the authorities to bring all those responsible to justice. They also pledged to stand by the bereaved family until justice is delivered.Meanwhile, students and staff of the Girijana Gurukulum in Bhadrachalam paid tributes to the slain nurse on the institution premises on Monday.
