Buy It for Life

I’ve been writing about home products for many years, and Polywood is one of those brands that experts have constantly recommended for its durability and maintenance-free design. For a while, I just had to take their word for it because I didn’t have an outdoor space of my own to test patio furniture.

Last year, my mom got the Polywood Modern 3-Piece Curveback Adirondack Set for her deck, and because I’m at her place so often, I finally got to see how great the brand’s furniture is. So when I moved into my own house — finally with a backyard! — earlier this year, I decided to get the same set as my mom to see if it’s really worth investing in this recycled plastic furniture. Spoiler: It is. Here’s why Polywood is one of the best places to buy patio furniture.

Polywood stands out from other outdoor furniture brands on the market because of the material its furniture is made of. Instead of traditional wood, all of Polywood’s “lumber” is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), aka recycled plastic from ordinary products like laundry detergent bottles. Pretty much all of the brand’s offerings come in three different finishes (Heritage, Vintage and Select) and a variety of colors, ranging from chic neutrals to vibrant hues to wood-like tones. They’re all made of that almost-indestructible material, which is what gives them that impressive durability and long lifespan compared to wooden and metal options. The material also includes UV stabilizers, which, according to the brand, help minimize fading.
