Police in Trans-Nzoia County are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a prominent farmer at his home on Sunday morning.
The mutilated body of Joseph Njenga, 68, was discovered in his residence, just hours after hosting his in-laws.
Njenga's wife was reportedly abducted, found unconscious, and dumped at the Tale-Webuye roundabout about 2km from Kitale town.
It is alleged that a motorist rescued her and rushed her to Kitale County Hospital for treatment.
The abductors told Odongo’s family that he was under arrest and they were taking him to Nyagwete police station.
She returned at around 6am on Tuesday and found her husband dead.
