Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Colombia international Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace. The wingback has signed a three-year contract, with the option of a further year, in a deal worth £22million (€25.6m, $29.7m).The move reunites head coach Oliver Glasner with the 30-year-old, who was a key part of the squad he led to three trophies in the space of two years, with the Conference League title following the FA Cup win and a Community Shield. Munoz was man of the match in the 1-0 FA Cup final success over Manchester City.Munoz began his professional career with Aguilas Doradas, making his senior debut in 2017, before joining Atletico Nacional in 2019. He joined Genk in Belgium in 2020, making 122 appearances and scoring 16 goals, while helping Genk to win the Belgian Cup in 2021.In all he has made 88 Premier League appearances for Palace — all starts — scoring eight goals.Munoz, who has 51 international caps foe Colombia, said in a club statement: “I’m really excited because I can see so much talent, Forest is a team with great players, great qualities and great skills, I think that we’re going to do great things.“This is a winning club. I think that when this is the expectation, the mentality — this makes it special.”Chief football officer, George Syrianos, added: “Daniel has consistently demonstrated his quality at the highest level. Daniel has performed strongly in the Premier League and in European competition, and we believe he has the mentality and ambition to make a significant contribution.”Munoz could make his debut when Forest face Tottenham Hotspur at The City Ground on Saturday.‘A huge positive for Glasner’The wingback position was integral to the success Glasner inspired at Crystal Palace — and will be again as he looks to get Forest climbing the Premier League table.Munoz is obviously a player Glasner knows well — and somebody he knows fits perfectly into his ethos — having achieved so much success together at Selhurst Park. The deal will be a huge positive for Glasner, who knows that Munoz understands his football philosophy — and is already attuned to work within it.Munoz will add serious competition for places on the right side of the pitch, with Ola Aina having offered a timely reminder of his own abilities with an impressive performance in the role at Anfield on Saturday.
