The Federal Government has assured Nigerians living abroad that it is intensifying efforts to address security challenges across the country and create a safer environment for citizens returning home.
Christopher Musa, the Minister of Defence, gave the assurance during an interactive engagement with members of the Nigerian community in Angola on the sidelines of the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) in Luanda.
Musa said the government was implementing measures to strengthen the country’s security architecture, enhance the operational capacity of the Armed Forces and other security agencies, and improve border management.
He said the measures were intended not only to tackle existing security threats but also to restore confidence among Nigerians in the diaspora who visit or plan to return to the country.
The Nigerian delegation to the AU summit was led by Kashim Shettima, Vice President, who represented President Bola Tinubu at the high-level meeting.
