India’s fiscal deficit in the months of April-July ‌stood at ₹4.55 lakh crore ($47.81 billion), or 26.8% ⁠of the target for the financial year ending March 31, ‌government data showed on Monday.The deficit in the ‌same period last ‌year ⁠stood at ₹4.7 lakh crore.India has set its fiscal deficit target for the financial year 2027 at ‌4.3% of the GDP, or ₹16.96 lakh crore.• Net tax receipts stood ‌at ₹8.5 lakh crore, compared with ₹6.6 lakh crore a year ⁠ago.• Non-tax revenue was at ₹4.2 lakh crore, ‌compared with ₹4 lakh crore a year ago.• Total government expenditure came to ₹17.6 lakh crore, compared with ₹15.6 lakh crore a year earlier.• Capital expenditure, or spending on building physical infrastructure, stood ⁠at ₹4.5 lakh crore against ⁠₹3.5 lakh crore a yearPublished on August 31, 2026
