The Russian cargo ship OMSKIY-107, which was reportedly attacked near the port of Novorossiysk, has run aground off the coast of the Şile district in Turkey’s Istanbul province.

Ukrinform reports this, citing the Turkish news agency DHA.

“The 108-meter Russian-flagged cargo ship OMSKIY-107, which was attacked near the port of Novorossiysk in Russia, drifted and ran aground off the coast of Alacalı in the Şile district,” DHA reported. After eyewitnesses saw the vessel drifting toward the shore, coast guard units were dispatched to the area.

“The ship’s bridge can be seen to have burned and sustained significant damage,” the agency said.

The crew reportedly abandoned the vessel in lifeboats following the attack.
